Created for Cooking Schools students, this contest aims to promote the use and treatments of a product completely integrated on the kitchen and socio-economics of the Axarquia.
Past November 9th. Diputación de Málaga’s Sala Oyarzábal hosted the presentation of the I Spanish Contest “Avocado in the Kitchen” created for Cooking Schools students and organized by Frutas TROPS. This presentation featured Diputación de Málaga’s Vice-President, José Francisco Salado; TROPS’ CEO, Enrique Colilles; and Gastroarte’s President, Fernando Rueda. They stated the great economic relevance of this sector for Malaga and the Axarquia.
Concerning the terms and conditions of this contest, it is opened to any Cooking School students all over Spain, and the aim of it is for our future chefs to know the quality and versatility of avocado, also encouraging the quality of formation at our Cooking Schools.
On this website there is more information about the previous selection of recipes, the professional Jury and other useful data. The best 12 recipes will be featured on the 2017 TROPS Calendar and will also reach the finals, to be celebrated on March 24st 2017 at the Castillo del Marqués Cooking School, where the Finals’ Jury will select three winners, with the prizes of 2.000, 1.000 and 500€, respectively, apart from various gifts given away by the entities that collaborate on this contest.
