The “Senda del Litoral” of the province of Málaga is a pioneering project that enables the transit from Manilva to Nerva through the entire Costa del Sol, covering up to a total of 180 kilometers.
The “Senda del Litoral” of the province of Málaga is a project led by the Diputación that counts with the collaboration of the 14 coastal municipalities, the coastal mancomunidades, the Consejería de Medio Ambiente y Ordenación del Territorio of the Junta de Andalucía and the Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente, via Costas y Medio Marítimo, whose objective is to enable the transit from Manilva to Nerja through the entire coast, covering around 180 kilometers.
Constituted in up to 167 different sections, the idea is to connect the structures that already exist (promenades, lanes and paths) and to build new links, in a long distance project due to the complexity of some of the coastal sections. Without a doubt, the “Senda del Litoral” will become an important tourist resource and, therefore, another attraction for the Costa del Sol.
It is a sister project of the “Gran Senda de Málaga”, the circular route around the province through paths and lanes, about which we talked about at B bou Hotels in this article and that has become a national reference of active tourism. In fact, both walkways will share some of the sections. Moreover, the “Senda del Litoral” will contribute to see the Costa del Sol like a unique product that involves all the province coast, from east to west.
So, this route will allow us to see in a closer way, spaces with a big natural value, the up to 42 almenara towers that have been counted along the Málaga coast or the Phoenician sites of Vélez-Málaga. You can find more information on this website.
