The Tejera, Almijara and Alhama mountains, a natural wonder

The Tejera, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park, an impressive setting for two of our unique places, B bou Hotel La Viñuela & Spa and B bou Hotel Cortijo Bravo, is a must-see for all nature lovers coming to La Axarquía.

Located between Malaga and Granada, as a natural frontier amongst both, The Tejera, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park is composed by a string of crests that, on one hand, get to a height of 1.500 meters and, on the other, descend to the Mediterranean Sea. This massive mountain range, a true protagonist of the views from our unique places of B bou Hotel La Viñuela & Spa, located at its very slope, and B bou Hotel Cortijo Bravo, also very close, offers some of the most incredible views of La Axarquía and the Costa del Sol.

At its mountains, it prevails the white and grey tones of the crests and the cliffs, as related to the abundance of marble. Also, its rivers descend with power down the hillsides, creating amazing waterfalls as The Petrified Trees’, where the water has been mineralizing old trees during more than a thousand years. Water is also present at other spectacular spots, such as the ‘poljés’ of Zafarraya or the Cave of Nerja, that event counts with an International Festival of Music and Dance. It’s an amazing natural setting with a comprehensive list of different trees, plants and animals.

Also, this Natural Park is a great place for canyoning, specially at Las Chorreras, between Sedella and Canillas del Aceituno, hiking, mountaineering at one of the highest peaks around, La Maroma, some nautical and subacuatic activities, free flight or just wandering around and enjoying nature.
