Malaga and the Costa del Sol make a strong bet for the cruise ship tourism with their participation on the international meeting Seatrade Europe, to be hosted at the beginnings of September by the city of Hamburg.
A delegation of Malaga, formed by members of the Port Authority, the Tourism Area, the Tourism and Planning Area of the Costa del Sol, Junta de Andalucía’s Council of Tourism and Sports and Cruceros Málaga, will participate on ‘Seatrade Europe’, a very important international meeting for the European cruise ships sector celebrated every two years at the German city of Hamburg.
This fair, the first important rendez-vous after the summer thanks to the participation of almost 5.000 professionals, will be hosted on September from 6 to 8th, and the Malaga Delegation has prepared a meeting agenda with the biggest shipping companies to be held at the Andalucía stand. The main goal for these meetings is to break the seasonality, the rising of layovers and the bet for luxury boats.
Thanks to this action and other alike, the goal for 2017 is that the Port of Malaga will increase again the traffic of cruise ships, reaching the 500.000 passengers and 300 layovers, with a rise between the 13% and the 20% in relation to last year.
