Malaga’s V Flamenco Art Biennial, a project created by Diputación Provincial, offers to Malacitans but also to tourists a rendez-vous with ‘jondo’ art through an extensive programme that will cover all the Costa del Sol during six months.
Almost 300 different artists will join Malaga’s V Flamenco Art Biennial, from March 3rd to September 9th, featuring 80 shows and galas on 30 different towns all over the province, plus more than a hundred parallel activities.
On this Fifth edition there’s three major shows, produced by Diputación, such as the Opening, dancer La Lupi‘s “La Paula” [on the picture above], that features Miguel Poveda as a guest artist, amongst others; “Torera”, the new proposal by dancer Úrsula Moreno, to be premiered at Cervantes Theater, and “Mairena Sinfónico”, a super-production that will close this Biennial gathering the singers José Valencia and Jesús Méndez, dancer Farruquito and the Orquesta Sinfónica Provincial. Other highlights would be Estepona-born ‘bailaora’ Luisa Palicio‘s “Biznaga”, or Bonela hijo‘s tribute to El Chino.
It’s an extensive programme, in time and in space, that borns with the aim of making all flamenco aficionados but also tourists that come to the Costa del Sol enjoy.
Besides the official programme there will be other interesting activities such as Cátedra de Flamenco, including masterclasses, lectures and much more. Everything adds to enjoy the best of flamenco art during six months on Malaga and its province.
